Out and Up – Port Melbourne Secondary College – Thermally Broken Systems
Port Melbourne Secondary College (formerly Fishermans Bend Secondary School) was opened in 2022. With up to 1,100 students, funded by the Victorian Governments “100 New Schools” program, it will be the first Secondary Education facility in this ever developing area.
This state-of-the-art school sits alongside the Fishermans Bend Innovation Hub, as such the school includes high-tech amenities such as a Fabrication Lab and Robotics Workshop.
Designed with sustainability at its core, Alclad Architectural completed the Very Classy Façade including Aluminium Glazing internal/external, Louvres & Non-Combustible Solid Aluminium cladding and went the next step by incorporating Double Glaze thermally broken windows and doors throughout the buildings. Thermally broken window systems are used to reduce energy usage, more consistent internal temperatures and reduced risk of condensation.
